After a very long wait...

Hello Cutsie friends! We have an amazing announcement to make. Barring any unforeseen events, we will be getting a house on our property in the next couple of months. We are so very excited and praising God for every answered prayer. It has been our most heartfelt desire to begin a foster/rescue for dogs and cats on the property that we purchased a little over four months ago. Now it looks like this is going to be a reality and no longer a dream.

It has been a little unnerving and hard to accept, as my husband and I have been dreaming about having our own home for the last 12 years. We have rented everywhere we have ever lived and this will be our first home together. Just that reality alone is hard to accept, but I'm slowly getting used to the idea! ;-) We are also anxious to get into our new neighborhood and try to bring the community together for barbecues and block parties. Of course, no BYOB, but there will be plenty of other stuff to enjoy. Not to mention the chance to find new homes for some great animals and to extend our human relationships as well!

I could sit here and tell you that this was all something that we did. That we worked really hard at this and that's why we're getting this home. I would be lying and doing a great disservice to the One that did do it all for us. We really had no hope for this home loan. With five kids, rent, animals, donations, bills, and everything else, there was nothing saved back. Three years ago we cleaned up my husband's credit report, but hadn't purchased anything. The economy itself is not favorable for people buying new homes. BUT - and I say that loudly because God provided this home, this land, the money, and the opportunity. We had been looking around for months for the perfect home. We found some that we were sure we wanted, mostly a lot of glitz and glamour and showiness. When we really dug into them, though, we found out how they were made and decided that the glitz wasn't that glittery.

Then, just after my husband's five week furlough from work, we found a home that we just fell in love with. It is not glitzy, but it is lovely. It has everything we want, plus good construction and insulation. It is a home that will last the 30 years we will be paying for it! Plus, we'll be paying less for the home and the land than what we pay in rent now. God is so good. He put everything in place for us, and also gave us more than what we had asked for.

You can call it fate, I call it faith. Praise Him, His mighty name, and His abundant blessings. We did nothing to deserve this, just the Father's love for His children. "But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such Power (Jesus) unto men." Mat. 9:8 KJV.
