I'm Back!

Hello all of my faithful followers. So sorry that I haven't kept in better contact. I thought I would be offline for a day, maybe two. However, it didn't work out quite that way! We have moved, and in doing so the lag between getting items moved and getting all of the utilities shut off in one place and on in another has been a nightmare I have never before encountered. The phone has been the biggest nightmare. We had a phone line on, and I just naturally assumed that we would switch it over to our names with a phone call - at the worst a credit check and a day's wait. Not. It has taken me repeated phone calls, reassurances with the phone company that I am renting and not impeding on someones phone bill (now WHY would I want to do that????) and that I needed a new modem. Okay, now if you tell someone you need a new modem, and they ask 10 times is there a modem in the house, and you tell them no 10 times, don't you think that should be enough? The CS actually told me, "Well, we need to know what happened to the previous modem." My answer, "How could I possibly know that? I just moved in 4 days ago. I am ASSUMING that the previous tenants took it with them." CS rep "Well, do you know how to contact them?" Okay, has no one in customer service ever rented a home? How many renters leave a forwarding address and phone number for the new tenants? Needless to say, I lost my temper and finally got my modem here today. I mean, I have loyal blog followers waiting to hear from me. Right? Hellloooo.... Okay, you can quit laughing now. It took all of 10 minutes to hook up once the guy GOT HERE. The satellite took longer than that. Sheesh. Okay. Done. I'm back, and will try to get on track again soon.

The good part about all of this? I have my own sewing area! I am so excited to put it to use. Not so excited that I must unpack to use it, but it's a good kind of work I guess.
